I had the chance to learn the technique of tape rendering from the former BMW designer, Prof. Friedrich.
Tape rendering is a technique used to create a rough or preliminary representation of an artwork or design concept. It involves using adhesive tape and affixing it between two layers of semi-transparent tape.
By layering the tape in different ways, you can create lines, shapes, and textures. The tape acts as both the outline and the fill for different elements of your design.
You can create texture and depth by varying the angles and spacing of the tape. Overlapping or crisscrossing the tape can give the illusion of shadows and highlights, adding a three-dimensional aspect to the rendering.
